Abstract

1,050,031. Hydrogenation catalysts. CHEVRON RESEARCH CO. March 12, 1964 [March 14, 1963], No. 10601/64. Heading B1E. [Also in Divisions C2 and C5] A hydrogenation catalyst results from the contacting between- 50 and 200‹C. of one mole of an organic acid salt of scandium titanium, vanadium, chromium, manganese, cobalt, nickel iron and copper with one to six moles of an organo metallic compound of a Group III element (MR 3 ), e.g. aluminium or boron where R is hydrogen, hydrocarbyl of 1-20 carbon atoms and at least one R is hydrocarbyl. The organic acid is exemplified by a very large number of compounds all of which have a p Ka value of from 1-20, 1-25 carbon atoms 1 or 2 acidic hydrogen atoms and consist of only carbon, hydrogen and oxygen.
