Abstract

1,049,753. Liquid manure spreader. EDWARD J. FUNK & SONS Inc. July 18,1963 [July 18,1962; May 23, 1963], No. 28527/63. Heading B2F. Artificial fertilizers are mixed into a slurry in a tank 12 by agitating blades and fed by means of pumps to two distributers 16 which are mounted in foldable booms 28 and each comprise a number of pipes having adjustable end portions so that the pattern of the spread material may be varied. The distributers 16 are rotated by means of belts or chains driven from a hydraulic motor. The pumps are also driven by a hydraulic motor. The bearings of the pumps and the agitating blades are provided with hydraulic seals to prevent the slurry from leaking into the seals and oil in the seals is pressurized by means of a compressor.
