Abstract

1,048,952. Water - tight lampholders. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. Feb. 2, 1965 [Feb. 5, 1964], No. 4472/65. Heading H2E. A water-tight contact holder, e.g. for an incandescent or discharge lamp, having current supply contacts 4, 5 connected with the cores 10, 11 of a current supply cable entering through an aperture 9 in the holder housing 7, has contact pins 16, 17 for another electric device connected to the contacts 4, 5 and provided in a cylindrical member 12 disposed in the housing 7 with axial sliding movement limited by an annular ledge or projections 15. A two-core supply cable for this device enters the member 12 through an aperture 18 and a cover 21 (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown) closing the bottom of member 12 has projections 22, 23 engaging in slots 19, 20 in the member 12 to push the cores of this cable on to the tapered ends of the pins 16, 17. Longitudinal ribs 13 in housing 7 co-operate with recesses in ledge 15 to prevent relative rotation between housing 7 and member 12.
