Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of formula <FORM:1048320/C2/1> where R and R1 are C1- 5 alkyl or C1- 5 alkoxy, R2 is hydrogen, C1- 5 alkyl or C1- 5 haloalkyl, R3 is C1- 5 alkyl when R2 is hydrogen and C1- 5 alkyl, phenyl or halophenyl when R2 is alkyl or haloalkyl, X is oxygen or sulphur, and Y is C1- 5 straight or branched alkylene. Preparative methods are of the type RR1P(X)SH (or salt) +Hal- or R1OSO2O - YN(R2)SO2R3, and RR1P(X)SCH2OH + HN(R2)SO2R3.ALSO:Pesticidal compositions comprise a phosphorus-containing sulphonamide of formula <FORM:1048320/A5-A6/1> where R and R1 are C1-5 alkyl or alkoxy, R2 is H, C1-5 alkyl or C1-5 haloalkyl, R3 is C1-5 alkyl when R2 is H and C1-5 alkyl, phenyl or halophenyl when R2 is alkyl or haloalkyl, X is O or S, and Y is C1-5 straight or branched alkylene. Dusts, solutions and dispersions are specified.
