Abstract
1,048,036. Two part couplings. BADISCHE CONTACT-FABRIK G.m.b.H. June 11, 1963, No. 23147/63. Heading H2E. A contact socket has a hollow resilient insulating carrier in the form of a cylinder 2, Figs. 1, 2 (not shown), or a prism, containing separate contact elements 3 disposed lengthwise around the bore. The elements 3 may be circular or trapezoidal in cross-section, and if circular may be fixed or rotatable; and they may be secured by bending projections 4 from their length over the ends of the carrier and embedding the ends in the outer surface of the carrier. Alternatively the whole length of the elements may be stuck to the carrier, by adhesive or by vulcanizing or may be partially embedded in it (Figs. 3, 4, not shown). Alternatively, if larger contact elements are used, 6, Figs. 5, 6 (not shown), they may be retained in the carrier by a ring 10 which engages in a waisted portion 9 of the elements, and forces them against the carrier, or they may be close-packed to render them self-retaining.
