Abstract
1,048,050. Carrier bags. SMITH & NEPHEW PLASTICS Ltd. Dec. 4, 1964 [Oct. 10, 1963], No. 40092/63. Heading A4G. A carrier bag of thermoplastic material has two thermoplastic loop handles of flat or folded strip or of solid or hollow round or curved section secured to the bag walls e.g. by welding. The bag may be formed from a tube welded at the bottom, separate shaped sheets welded on three sides or a folded sheet welded on two sides and may be gussetted. Then handle 31 which may carry a gripping tube, may be separately secured to the bag walls or comprise one continuous loop of strip joined at the ends at 32 and secured to the bag at 30 with the loop passing under the bottom 29 of the bag.
