Abstract

1,047,805. Supporting pipes. UNION CARBIDE CORPORATION. July 1, 1964 [July 3, 1963], No. 27087/64. Headings F2A and F2P. A sliding support comprises a plate 13 in contiguous contact with a supported article 11 and slidable on a plate 15 which is in contiguous contact with a support 17, the arrangement being corrosionless. The sliding plates are of a composition comprising a fibrous material and/or carbon and/or a thermosetting resin. They may be secured respectively to the pipe 11 and the support 17 with an epoxyresin adhesive. Relative movement of the plates may be confined to one direction by providing one with a rib 21 to fit in a recess 19 in the other.
