Abstract

1,047,841. Toy vehicles. E.VASSILIOU and P. PANTELOURIS. July 26, 1963 [May 1, 1962; Jan. 15, 1963], Nos. 16557/62 and 1868/63. Heading A6S. Automatic steering means on a toy vehicle comprises magnets on a steering element on the vehicle which align the steered wheel with a magnetic wire embedded in the track base. Magnets 12 and 13 of opposite downward polarity are arranged fore and aft of a steerable wheel 11, Figs 1 and 2, or wheels, Fig. 5, and are coupled by a yoke 14 to form a U shaped magnet which aligns itself with a magnetic wire 33 in the track base 34. The vehicle may be branched away at a junction 36 by means of energized embedded electro-magnets 37. The vehicle may be stopped at traffic lights by embedded electro-magnets 47a or 47b, associated with traffic lights 48a or 48b, respectively, whereby a lever 46 is pulled downwardly to break the circuit of the electric motor 38. The lever 46 returns to the closed circuit position by resilient means when current to the magnets 47a or 47b is interrupted
