Abstract

A concentrated aqueous herbicidal suspension having a pH between 6.5 and 9.5 comprises at least 5% by weight of water, from 2% to 70% by weight of one or more water-insoluble organic herbicides, from 1% to 50% by weight of one or more water-soluble organic herbicides, and a suspending agent present in an amount at least sufficient for the water-insoluble herbicide(s) to be suspended in the water, the suspending agent being a polycarboxylated hydrocarbon polymer in which the carboxyl groups are in the form of alkali metal, ammonium or amine salts, or a high molecular weight polysacharide gum obtained by fermenting a sugar derived from a starch, or a colloidal microcrystalline cellulose dispersion having a molecular weight between 30,000 and 50,000 and a particle size between 150 and 5 microns, all percentages being based on the total weight of the composition. The suspension may also contain compatible wetting and/or dispersing agents. Numerous water-insoluble and water-soluble organic herbicides are specified.
