Abstract
In an electrophoretic coating process the deposition current or the quantity of electricity used is measured and coating solids are added to the coating medium in accordance with the measured values. Either the deposition current may be arranged to control continuous addition of solids or the quantity of electricity used may control intermittent addition of solids, e.g. by arranging for an inertia integrating motor driven by the amplified output from a shunt connected in the deposition circuit to drive a pulse generator operating a solids metering pump.
