Abstract
1,047,294. Making liquid-filled satchets. HOLSTEIN & KAPPERT MASCHINENFABRIC PHOENIX G.m.b.H. April 22, 1964 [April 30, 1963], No. 16599/64. Heading B8C. Tubing 1 filled with liquid by a nozzle 4 is shaped into sachets by a chain of cells 5 (Fig. 1). In the form shown, flaps 9, 10, 11 of a cell 5 are closed round a length of tubing by a guide 19 and, as the tubing moves round a driving wheel 18, the parts of the tube pressed together by the ends of the cells are welded by jaws 20 and 29 (Fig. 2, not shown), carried on the flaps and wheel respectively. The strip of sachets may be severed at 21 (Fig. 1) and delivered individually down a shoot 22. The sachets may be of plastics foil or coated paper.
