Abstract

1,046,163. Lifting magnets. TRUNINGER AG. March 23, 1964 [April 5, 1963], No 12175/64. Heading H1P [Also in Division H2] A lifting electromagnet assembly comprises an accumulator battery 18 mounted on the magnet core 11 and connected to supply electrical power to the magnet excitation winding 13, a battery charger 19 and a charging current limiting resistor R 1 , Fig. 3 (not shown), an excitation winding on and off switch S, and a state of operation indicator lamp L. The core may have two shaped pole shoes 14 which are vertically adjustable to suit the diameter of cylindrical material to be lifted and are held in position by clamp and guide screws 15. The circuit of built-in switch S may be remotely controlled by a cord-operated switch (not shown) connected to a plug socket Sb shunted across the switch contacts. The charger includes a Zener diode controlling a relay which in turn controls the charging rate and the lamp L.
