Abstract

1,044,993. Cartons. PEMBROKE CARTON & PRINTING CO. Ltd. July 12, 1965 [June 19, 1964; June 24, 1964], Nos. 25543/64 and 26154/64. Heading B8P. A carton 1 with a positive closure lock formed by a slot 3 and a tongue 8, has a tearout or liftable tab 20 on a flap 2 which provides an opening 24, Fig. 2 (not shown), through which a finger can engage the tongue 8 to release it from the slot 3. The tab 20 can either be completely removable from the box or hinged about an edge 4 of the box. Hexagonal, semi-circular or triangular tabs may be used. In a modification a tear-out tab 20B, Fig. 3 (not shown), extends across the edge 4 and terminates in a semi-circular portion 26. The tear-out tab 20D Fig. 7, (not shown), is spaced from the slot 3 by a cut or line of perforations 33. The carton may be lined.
