Abstract

1,042,533. Safety harness. BRITAX (LONDON) Ltd. Jan. 14, 1965 [Jan. 15, 1964; Feb. 20, 1964], Nos. 1805/64 and 7119/64. Heading A3V. In a vehicle safety harness lap straps 14, 15, or cables secured thereto are retractable into a single housing 13 mounted on the floor 11 or seat back 12 and are locked against withdrawal from a spring drum on which both are wound by inertia operated means. The straps 14, 15 pass round pulleys 16 and 17 also mounted either on the floor or on the seat back. The straps 14, 15 may be integral, a single strap being threaded through a slot in the shaft of the spring drum, Fig. 5 not shown.
