Abstract

1,042,454. Moulding concrete slabs. SPETSIALNOE KONSTRUKTORSKOE BYURO " PROKATDETAL." March 27, 1963, No. 12163/63. Heading B5A. Slabs are moulded by forming moulds on an endless belt 1 from adjustable side walls 5, cross partitions, and cores 2, spraying the moulds with a release agent, e.g. petroleum jelly, feeding concrete from a vibrated shoot 6 into the moulds, spreading the concrete by a screw 13, vibrating the moulds by a vibrating beam 8, and smoothing the concrete by a vibrating press 9. The slabs then pass under a cutter 10 having helical blades, excess concrete being returned by a conveyer 11 to the concrete spreader. The surface of the concrete is finally finished by adjustable rollers 17. The slabs pass through a curing chamber, whilst under pressure from rollers 28. At the end of the belt run, the slabs are removed on to a conveyer 34 which operates at a first speed equal to that of the belt and a second speed equal to twice that of the belt. The slabs are finally transferred to a tilting mechanism 35, which positions the slabs for vertical removal by a crane. The belt is cleaned by rubber plates mounted on a shaft.
