Abstract

1,040,119. Making rods; rolling. H. O. ACOSTA. Dec. 17, 1964, No. 51343/64. Headings B3A and B3M. Rods of various sections are produced from a bar of rectangular cross - section by a hot rolling process, the bar being weakened along longitudinal lines and then severed into a number of parallel rods which are then individually but simultaneously rolled to their final crosssection. A bar of 40 x 44 mm. is shown schematically being rolled and severed to produce fine rods of 6À07 mm. diameter. Figs. 5-9 (not shown) indicate alternative sections that can be produced by the method.
