Abstract

The invention relates to a mobile device for sensory stimulation of a bedridden patient, consisting of a movable box containing a video projector arranged for a vertical projection, with an optical ratio of between 0.5 and 2, the upper plate said box having a window for the passage of the projection optical beam. The box has in its lower part at least one ventilation opening and in the upper part of at least one side wall an air circulation opening, the projector being positioned so as to define a peripheral space between its outer walls and the inner walls of said box, said box further comprising at least one loudspeaker.

Mobile equipment for sensory stimulation

Field of the invention

The present invention relates to the specific field of controlled multisensory stimulation, known as "snoezelen" which aims to awaken the sensoriality of the stimulated person, in a safe atmosphere or to create a relaxing context for patients. The invention relates more particularly to equipment specifically intended for the implementation of such a simulation for bedridden patients.

Field of the invention

In the state of the art, there is known a device described in patent EP0737879 intended to generate by reflection images produced by reflection. This equipment of the prior art comprises a housing equipped with a semi-reflective orientable plate.

The housing is comprised of a plurality of transportable portions and has at least one insertion opening through which a carriage equipped with image producing apparatus is introduced into the space under the inclined optical slide carriage.

Also known is EP2121097 which relates to an interactive system for sensory stimulation of a subject, comprising a main element and a satellite element. The main element is portable on various surfaces, while being able to be attached to attachment points or other connections during operation; a plurality of sensory stimulation means are disposed in the main element or the satellite element to provide sensory stimulation to the environment surrounding the equipment.

EP1898983 discloses an apparatus for providing sensory stimulation to a subject. It includes a housing that can be moved freely on a surface and a plurality of sensory stimulators therein, configured to trigger sensory stimulation in the vicinity of the housing, the apparatus being self-contained and the sensory stimulators stimulating one or more of the senses of touch , sight, smell or hearing. Sensory stimulators can be electric or not. The apparatus preferably comprises a device for storing and distributing electric current such as a battery. The housing is preferably designed without sharp edges or protuberances to avoid injuring the stimulated subject.

Disadvantages of prior art

The solutions of the art are not fully satisfactory, especially for use at the foot of the patient's bed. The equipment of the prior art is relatively heavy, complex to install and handle, and are rather adapted to fixed stations for the reception of the patient.

Solution provided by the invention

In order to overcome these drawbacks, the invention relates to a mobile device specifically intended for sensory stimulation of a bedridden patient, constituted by a movable box containing a video projector arranged for a vertical projection, with an optical ratio of between 0, 5 and 2, the upper plate of said box having a window for the passage of the projection optical beam, said box having in its lower part at least one ventilation opening and in the upper part of at least one side wall an opening of air circulation, the projector being positioned to define a peripheral space between its outer walls and the inner walls of said box, said box further comprising at least one speaker.

Advantageously, the bottom of said box has damping legs for fixing the video projector.

According to a particular embodiment, the equipment comprises two retractable flaps between a projection position where they are spaced apart and a storage position where they are close together to close the upper surface of the box.

Detailed description of a nonlimiting example of embodiment

The present invention will be better understood on reading the description which follows, with reference to a nonlimiting exemplary embodiment illustrated by the appended figures in which: FIG. 1 represents a partial sectional view of an equipment according to the invention; Figure 2 shows a detailed view of the bottom of the mobile box - Figure 3 shows a schematic view of a hospital room with such equipment.

A video projector (1) is integrated in a mobile box (2) to allow projection on the ceiling of the room in very large dimension of landscape films or quiet scenes of everyday life "as if we were there".

The video projector (1) is mounted on the bottom (3) of the mobile box (2) via a damped plate (20) fixed on the bottom (3) of the box by a first series of dampers (21, 22). This plate (20) has a vertical plate (23) for a first mode of attachment of a projector, and damping spacers (4, 5, 24, 25) for fixing the projector in a second mode. These dampers (21, 22, 4, 5, 24, 25) prevent the transmission of vibrations from the ground to the video projector. The bottom (3) is provided with rollers (6, 7, 8). The box also contains a speaker (17). The mobile box comprises perforated side walls (9) and the bottom (3) has a window (10), to allow the circulation of air without forced ventilation to avoid any noise.

The upper part of the mobile box is equipped with two retractable shelves (11, 12) movable between a spaced apart position (as shown in FIG. 1) where it releases a central space allowing the passage of the light beams and a closed position where the two shelves cover the upper face of the mobile box.

A handle (13) facilitates the movement of the mobile box.

The housing also has a location for receiving a DVD player (14) and another location for receiving an amplifier (15). The upper part of the box has a window (16) for communication with an infra-red control.

The mobile box (30) is intended to be installed at the foot of the bed of a patient bedded as shown in Figure 2, to project a large image (31) on the ceiling in the field of view of the bedridden patient.

The size of the image (about 2.5 m base), the quality of the projection and the restitution of the natural sound environment create an environment of immersion and contemplation.

Looking at the ceiling, the patient may have the feeling of "moving away" from the hospital world and feeling for a moment, as if he were outside, lying in the grass or leaning against a wall.

This mobile unit can easily move from room to room at the suggestion of the caregiver or at the request of patients.

claims 1 - Mobile equipment for sensory stimulation of a bedridden patient, characterized in that it consists of a movable box containing a video projector arranged for a vertical projection, with an optical ratio of between 0.5 and 2, the upper plate of said box having a window for the passage of the projection optical beam, said box having in its lower part at least one. ventilation opening and in the upper part of at least one side wall an air circulation opening, the projector being positioned so as to define a peripheral space between its outer walls and the inner walls of said box, said box comprising besides at least one speaker. 2 - Mobile equipment for sensory stimulation of a bedridden patient according to claim 1 characterized in that the bottom of said box has damping legs for fixing the video projector. 3 - mobile device for sensory stimulation of a bedridden patient according to claim 1 characterized in that it comprises two retractable flaps between a projection position where they are spaced apart and a storage position where they are brought together to close the surface upper case.
