The installation for producing a gas mixture enriched in hydrogen through adsorption separation unit using a circuit containing adsorbent bottles/columns (3) working in alternative production/regeneration cycles and controlling units (2, 4) that are provided by means of electric supply. The electric supply has a proton exchange membrane fuel cell (5) intended to fed in air and carburize from the fuel source. The fuel cell is functioning with a fuel made up of hydrogen gas or gas mixture rich in hydrogen. A fraction of the gas mixture rich in hydrogen produced by the installation directly feeds the fuel entry of the pile so that the installation constitutes a source of fuel for the pile. The gas purification mixture is produced by the installation located on upstream entry by carburizing fuel cell such as means of chemisorption. The fuel source is made up of bottles of pressurized hydrogen gas to connect at the fuel entry of the pile. The controlling units have a cabinet such as sensors and valves, and a body of supervision such as computer/analogue. A box of input/output is located at a level of the circuit of the installation and electrically connected to the cabinet. The fuel cell is laid out near the box of input/output.

Description

The invention more particularly relates to an installation for producing a gas mixture enriched in hydrogen by adsorption separation by means of a circuit comprising a plurality of bottles or columns of adsorbents operating in alternating cycles of production / regeneration, of the organs control and control of the installation intended to be electrically powered by electrical power supply means. This type of installation is also called PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption, ie Pressure-Modulated Adsorption). Such installations are intended to be installed in different environments or countries, which can pose problems to ensure the power supply of the control equipment of the installation. Indeed, the control equipment of the installation typically comprises electrically powered cabinets and boxes which are connected to the various electrical components of the circuit such as pressure sensors, electro-valves ... To ensure this power supply, it is known to use transformers and the power supply (network for example) available on the site of the installation. However, this solution requires the provision of a specific electrical connection for the installation. In addition, the electrical transformer must be changed according to the different power supplies available from one site to another. Finally, this known solution is dependent on the quality of the electrical network of the site and in particular the power cuts that may occur.

An object of the present invention is to overcome all or part of the disadvantages of the prior art noted above. For this purpose, the installation according to the invention, which moreover conforms to the generic definition given in the preamble above, is essentially characterized in that the power supply means comprise a fuel cell intended to be powered. in air and fuel from at least one fuel source. Furthermore, the invention may comprise one or more of the following features: the fuel cell is of the type operating with a fuel consisting of hydrogen gas or a gaseous mixture rich in hydrogen, and in that a fraction of a hydrogen-rich gas mixture produced by the installation directly supplies the fuel inlet of the battery so that the installation constitutes a fuel source for the battery; the installation comprises means of purifying the gas mixture produced by the fuel cell; plant located upstream of the fuel inlet of the fuel cell, such as chemisorption means, the installation comprises a fuel source consisting of a plurality of pressurized gaseous hydrogen cylinders able to be fluidly connected at the fuel inlet of the battery, the control and control means of the installation comprise a control and control cabinet of the circuit components. As sensors and valves, the control and control means of the installation comprise an input / output box, said box of inputs / outputs being located at the level of the circuit of the installation and being electrically connected to the control and control cabinet, - the control and control means of the installation comprise a supervisory device such as a computer or the like, - the fuel cell is disposed in or near the input box /exits. the installation comprises an uninterrupted power supply device such as at least one battery electrically connected to the control and control means of the installation and / or to the fuel cell, to ensure start-up phases or load transients, - the fuel cell is of the proton exchange membrane type (PEMFC). Other features and advantages will appear on reading the description below, made with reference to the single figure which shows schematically and partially an example of installation according to the invention. The installation 1 (PSA) represented by way of example comprises, in the same container 6, a circuit for producing a gaseous mixture rich in hydrogen by adsorptive separation. Conventionally the circuit comprises a plurality of columns 3 of adsorbents (five in the example shown) operating in alternating cycles of production / regeneration. The circuit furthermore comprises elements that are not described in detail for the sake of brevity, in particular sensors and solenoid valves. The circuit also comprises control and control members 2, 4 of the installation 1 intended to be electrically powered. The control members 2 and 4 of the installation include, for example, cabinets and / or electrical boxes such as a box 2 comprising a PLC provided with a Human Machine Interface system, a box (4) of input / output disposed within the circuit and electrically connected to the controller. According to the invention, the power supply means of the control and control members 2, 4 of the installation 1 and / or other electrical components of the installation comprise at least one fuel cell 5 supplied with air and in fuel, for example hydrogen gas. In this way the installation 1 can constitute an autonomous and independent entity with regard to its power supply. Preferably, the fuel cell 5 is of the type operating with a fuel consisting of hydrogen gas or a gaseous mixture rich in hydrogen. Advantageously, a fraction of the gaseous mixture rich in hydrogen (H2) produced by the installation 1 can directly feed the fuel inlet of the stack 5 so that the installation forms a fuel source for the battery 5. Before its entry in cell 5, the hydrogen-rich gas can be purified, for example by chemisorption to remove, for example, all or part of the carbon monoxide present in the product gas. Alternatively or in combination, the fuel cell can be fed by a fuel source consisting of a plurality of pressurized hydrogen gas cylinders. Typically the power consumption of such an installation can be between 1 and 2 kW, for example. A fuel cell having a power of 2.5 kW can thus be used with a power margin for other electrical equipment for example.

Furthermore, the installation may comprise an uninterrupted power supply device such as at least one battery electrically connected to the control and control elements 2, 4 of the installation 1 and / or to the fuel cell 5, to ensure, for example, starting phases or load transients. Preferably, the battery is sized to allow autonomy of supply of the installation 1 of the order of 10 minutes for example.
