Description
DESCRIHION
The present invention is a device for counting compresses (8) used during surgical procedures. It is composed of a counter (4) of surgical compresses avoiding any manipulation of the compresses (8) soiled and allowing a count of the compresses used by prohibiting any forgetting of compresses (8) inside the body of the patient and compresses ( 8) marked by a recognition device (10) (7).
The technical field of the invention is in the medical field, more particularly surgical, especially in the types of surgery where the risk of forgetting to compress in the body of the patient is important.
The main application of the invention is the counting of the compresses (8) used in general surgery, bone, visceral, gynecological, etc., in order to prevent one or more compresses from being forgotten in situ at the closing of the operative way.
Indeed, until then, the counting compresses is done manually by a third person.
The compresses are counted before sterilization and then sterilized in a fixed number of packets then counted by the operating aid before being used by the operator. Once the compresses are soiled, they are then recounted by a third person, which entails a risk of errors.
In case of non-concordance, there are compresses with a radiopaque marker that allows the surgeon to check their absence in the operative site.
But for this, it is necessary to have a radiography equipment with all the problems that entails, X-rays, sterilization, immediate availability of the device, difficult interpretation of the image, etc.
If in doubt, the surgeon must intervene manually to remove this foreign body with all the consequences that entails for the patient.
The problem is thus to have a complete equipment counting compresses (8) to allow the surgical team to find the same number of compresses (8) after use, as before use and this without manipulation from a third person.
A proposed solution to this problem is a device for automatically counting the surgical compresses (8) used by the surgeon during an operation.
The count performed during or after the removal of the compresses (8) must be compatible with a random ("loose") deposit of several compresses (8).
Only specifically marked compresses (8) can be counted.
The meter is equipped with a device creating a magnetic field. The compresses (8) are equipped with a permanent magnet (10) or not (7) or any material having a behavior not indifferent to the magnetic field.
The main application of this invention is therefore the identification and counting of said recognition elements (10) (7) included in the compress (8).
The following description and FIG. 1 correspond to a particular embodiment by "flow measurement" (1):
The principles: - The compresses (8) are marked by means of a permanent magnet (10) placed inside a plastic cap (11) sewn on the compress (8).
- La cuve (5) (matière amagnétique) destinée à recevoir les compresses (8) disposées suivant l'axe de 2 bobines (12) en position de HELMOHOLTZ.- The tank (5) (non-magnetic material) intended to receive the compresses (8) arranged along the axis of 2 coils (12) in position HELMOHOLTZ.
A flowmeter (1) calibrated, connected to the 2 coils (12), indicates the number of compresses (8) present in the tank (5).
A ce titre, deux solutions peuvent être envisagées La géométrie de l'aimant (10) - libre de tout mouvement dans la capsule (11) - caractérise une orientation spécifique.- Note / orientation of the marking magnets (10): in order to measure a magnetic flux proportional to the number of compresses (8) deposited, it is necessary that the marking magnets (10) are oriented in the same direction. As such, two solutions can be envisaged The geometry of the magnet (10) - free of any movement in the capsule (11) - characterizes a specific orientation.
* L'aimant (10) est orienté au moyen d'un bobinage (12) prévu à cet effet:
FONCTIONNEMENT:
suivant:
1) Mise sous tension de la bobine (12) d'orientation des aimants (10) (option).* The magnet (10) is oriented by means of a winding (12) provided for this purpose:
OPERATION:
At the end of the surgical procedure, all the compresses (8) used are suppo
have been deposited in the vat (5) by the surgeon. Operation is then the
following:
1) Energize magnet coil (12) (10) (optional).
2) Mise sous tension du fluxmètre (1). 2) Turn on the fluxmeter (1).
3) Mesure du flux. 3) Flow measurement.
4) Affichage du nombre des compresses (8) [aimants (10)l dans la cuve (5). 4) Display of the number of compresses (8) [magnets (10) l in the tank (5).
sur le patient est effectuée au moyen d'un détecteur du type "capteur à effet Hall".In case of non-agreement with the number of compresses (8) used, a search
on the patient is performed by means of a detector of the type "Hall effect sensor".
The following description and FIG. 2 correspond to a particular embodiment of "field measurement" (2):
Field measurement:
PRINCIPLE: - The compresses (8) are marked by means of a permanent magnet (10) placed inside a plastic cap (11) sewn on the compress (8).
The tank (5) (nonmagnetic material) for receiving the compresses (8) deposited is placed in a chamber where are arranged probes (13) Hall effect.
A calibrated magnetometer (14), connected to the probes (13), indicates the number of compresses (8) present in the tank (5).
Un tel dispositif nécessite une orientation des aimants (10).Two types of measurements are possible: 1) Reading head: the (or the) probe (s) (13) are placed along a vertical axis constituting a "read head". The compresses (8) being deposited in the tank (5), it is operated in rotation, while the magnetometer (14) records the variation of the field for one revolution. Such a device requires an orientation of the magnets (10).
suivant
