Abstract

A small diffuser (3) which is black, opaque and concave is placed about three millimetres in front of the flash tube (2). the diffuser is about three millimetres wide and has a radius of concavity of about fifteen millimetres. Light from the flash tube (2) which would otherwise be projected directly forward is diffused by the diffuser and reflected back to the main mirror from where it is shone on to the subject from all angles. The diffuser (3) may be used whatever the focus and does not involve any loss of light.
