Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a proprioseptive rehabilitation and balancing apparatus. We know different proprioseptive and balancing rehabilitation devices such as the FREDMANN tray composed of a circular tray and a half sphere located below the tray, or commonly a rectangular or circular tray with a half cylinder located in below.
The disadvantages of the aforementioned devices are that they offer no measure enabling the patient to locate his imbalance. The proprioseptive and balancing rehabilitation device consists of a square, circular or rectangular tray, with a hole or orifice in its center and dl.Yae curved semi-circular shape fixed below the tray. The curved part has in its center a mark represented by a cross, on either side of this mark appears transverse ridges regularly spaced. A light or sound device composed of a pendulum attached to the lower part of the tray and a receiver fixed to the upper part of the curved shape allows the ignition or sound system by contact. The proprioseptive rehabilitation device and balancing have four functions: 1) The subject is standing on the tray, legs slightly apart, when he looks through the central opening of the tray, he must see the central mark of the curved part, the subject is in a balanced position vertical, it is a tracking function, in this case the dicpsitive light is off or there is no audible signal. 2) If the lower mark is offset from the orifice, we must see appear by the transverse ridges of the curved part, which will indicate and measure the offset, it is a measurement function, in this case the device light is on or the audible signal is triggered. 3) The subject playing between balance and imbalance warns by either light cues or by a sound signal can integrate the notion of verticality, proprioseptively is, by closing your eyes becoming mentally aware of the right position is the integration function. 4) The subject can climb on the plateau on one leg, allowing in his anteroposterior imbalance to work his proproseptivity, especially at the ankle. To work this same proprioseptivity in the lateral direction, it will be necessary to turn the apparatus by 90 so that the foot is in lateral imbalance.
FIG. 1 represents the device according to the invention with reference to this drawing, the device comprises: a plate (A) with its orifice (E), a curved shape (B) with its transverse ridges (C) and a luminous device or sound (D). Figure 2 shows the mark (F) of the curved shape as well as the transverse ridges (C).
