Abstract

The apparatus comprises a housing with a bottom and an aperture above the bottom for inserting a finger. A pump driven by an electric motor is mounted on the housing. The pump has an intake port connecting the pump to the housing near the bottom for the intake of liquid from the housing and a discharge port for the discharge of liquid from the pump. A nozzle member is connected to the discharge port. The nozzle member has a discharge orifice located inwardly from the housing aperture and a projection near the orifice for pushing the skin near the fingertip away from the fingernail when the fingertip is pressed against the nozzle member. The projection on the nozzle member enables the pressurised liquid from the pump to be directed against the inside surface of the nail instead of being deflected by the skin.

Claims

1. Apparatus for cleaning the nails, characterized in that it comprises an envelope (2) having a bottom (6) and which is pierced with an opening (4), above the bottom (6), to allow the introduction a finger (5);

a pump (10) mounted on the casing (2), comprising a suction port (16) connecting it to the casing (2), near the bottom (6) thereof in order to suck a contained liquid in the casing (2), and a discharge orifice (18) for ejecting the liquid;

a nozzle (30) connected to the discharge port (18) of the pump, comprising a discharge port (38) located internally relative to the opening (4) of the casing; and

a pointed protruding element (40) placed near the orifice (38) to push the neighboring skin with the fingertip (5) of the nail when the fingertip (5) is pressed against the nozzle (30) in order to allow the liquid from the nozzle (30) to penetrate under the nail in order to ensure complete cleaning.

2. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that the projecting element (40) extends outside near the center of the orifice (38).

3. Apparatus according to claim 2, characterized in that the projecting element (40) is flat and pointed.
