Abstract

1. Safety device for a building having a glass wall and/or facade comprising at least one glass panel composed of at least one pane (10, 11) stuck rigidly to a chassis (3) of a rigid structure (1) by the intermediary of at least one connecting joint (5) of the panel to the chassis, normally permanently active and interposed between the inner face of the inner pane and the chassis (3), characterised in that it comprises at least one member (9, 19, 25) connected to the chassis (3) with clearance and to one edge (29) or one corner (15) of the panel and forming means (9, 19, 25) for holding in position in proximity to the chassis and/or destruction means of all or part of the panel (2), these means (9, 19, 25) being normally inactive, and being active in the case of the failure of the joints (5) connecting the panel to the chassis and/or the means (13) for connecting the panes (10, 11) constituting the glass of the panel (2) to one another in order to prevent the panel (2) or a part of its glass from falling in one piece.
