Abstract

Kitchen furniture unit, which can be integrated into a fitted kitchen, characterised by the superposition of a small retractable table 1, comprising a chopping board 2 and a waste bin of large capacity 3, mounted to a tiltable door 4. The construction and relative arrangement of these elements make it possible to: 1. Use, in an integrated unit, rubbish bags which have a large capacity (50 or 100 litres); 2. To dispose of the waste material produced on the chopping board without handling them; 3. To remove instantaneously the chopping board and/or the waste bin for cleaning.

Description

 The invention relates to kitchen furniture with integrated elements.

 Known systems comprise, on the one hand, waste boxes of reduced capacity requiring, when the user does not have a garbage chute (old houses, individual houses) the transfer of waste into a larger container. The opening of these boxes is small and the rejection operation therefore presents some difficulties.

 On the other hand the known cutting tables are independent of the waste boxes and the transfer of litter must be done manually which is unpleasant and messy.

 The item of furniture which is the subject of the invention comprises a waste box allowing the use of large capacity commercial trash bags (50 or 100 liters).

The tilting door that supports it ensures wide access.

The element further comprises, under its fixed upper plane, a shelf sliding on slides which is discovered by pulling it forwards.

 In this tablet a cutting board is inserted in such a way that, the cutting finished, the rubbish being collected on the board, the latter can be unlocked and tilted down just above the waste box previously opened. In this way the detritus falls into the box without manipulation and without; there is a risk of spreading it on the ground.

 The board can be removed instantly for washing. Likewise the waste box can be removed for cleaning. It is enough to raise the chain and remove the door and box assembly by pulling it outwards.

 Figure I shows a view of the entire element in the garbage disposal position, that is to say: door open, shelf pulled, tilted board.

 FIG. 2 shows a transverse view of the element, the lateral cheek being assumed to be removed. We can see the retractable shelf I sliding in the U-shaped slides 5. Pulled it out towards the front of this tablet discovers the cutting board 2 inserted in an opening in the tablet. Two axes 6 embedded on both sides of the shelf carry the board which is machined so as to pivot on these axes and to be removable by simple lifting obliquely. A locking device 7 keeps the board in position during the cutting operation. Its erasure allows the rotation of the board downwards for the evacuation of the detritus in the waste box 3 previously opened.

the opening is limited by an IO chain fixed by its two ends inside the frame and simply passed around the waste box. During the opening of the door, the vertical of the center of gravity of the mobile assembly passes outside the axis 9. The door therefore remains stable in the open position.

 The box is bordered at its upper part with a reinforcement whose outer perimeter is very slightly greater than that of commercial trash bags. These being a little elastic, the tension necessary for their installation is sufficient to ensure that they are held in position, the load being supported by the box, the bag of which follows the internal shape.

 In order to prevent unpleasant odors from spreading, a cover II whose weight is balanced by spring is suspended by 2 levers on an axis I2. A flexible blade I3 secured to this axis and pushed back by the waste box when closing causes the cover to be pressed against the box.

 Above the compartment of the waste box a drawer is shown because the dimensions of the elements sometimes leave sufficient space to accommodate it.

 Figures 3 and 4 show an embodiment of the articulation around the axes 6 and the locking 7 of the cutting board on the tablet.

 The board rests on the axes by oblique notches opening on the underside, which allows the board to be swiveled from the horizontal position to the vertical position without risk of falling and allows its instantaneous removal by simple oblique lifting for cleaning.

 the locking system 7 consists of two retaining tabs integral with operating buttons which allow them to be erased under the tablet by simple rotation.

 FIGS. 5 and 6 show an exemplary embodiment of the axis 9 supporting the mobile assembly constituted by the waste box 3 and the door 4. We see that the thickness of the battens between the box and the door must be slightly greater than the distance between the innermost generator of the axis 9 and the external edge of the cheeks I5 of the frame.

 The drawing also shows the shape to be given to the cheeks I5 in their lower part as well as a device for adjusting the position of the door by means of screws I6 and square nuts I7 embedded in the cleat and acting on an elastic blade I8 which serves as a support for the mobile assembly on axis 9.

Standard element of kitchen furniture according to claim I characterized in that it comprises a large capacity waste box (50 or 100 liters) associated with a tilting door, the set resting on a fixed axis integral with the frame and being removable for cleaning.
