Abstract

The metering pump utilises a piece of flexible tube (3) with non-return valves (4, 5) fitted at each end. The tube (3) is mounted in a housing (1) and can be compressed by the arm (6a) of a bell crank lever (6). The other arm (6b) of the lever (6) has a slotted end (6c) which engages a collar (8c) on the end of the core (8a) of a solenoid (8). The stroke of the core (8a) can be adjusted by a grub screw (10) so that the angular movement of the lever (6) is controlled, which is turn controls the flow per stroke through the pump. The core member is moved by an electromagnet forming part of the solenoid.
