Abstract

The valve (1) for controlling the flow of a fluid is normally held open by a spring (5) which presses the piston (3) upwards against a bellows (4). The bellows contain a substance which expands when headted and creates a pressure which overcomes the spring force and closes the valve. The heat is supplied by a small electric element (7) connected to the wires (71) so that the valve can be remotely operated. Instead of a belows the same effect can be achieved by using a stack of bimetallic discs.
