Abstract

The clutch is for use between two rotary components, having a first half with teeth fixed to the first component. A second half fixed to the second component and work swith coupling members engaging it with the teeth on the first half. Th coupling members are balls (6), held by a movable component (5) in engagement with the teeth (31) of the first half (3) in one position, and in another position only in contact with the second half (4). The first half can incorporate a cylindrical pinion with straight spur teeth.
