Abstract

The connector male and female electrode tool allows the electrodes to be mated or de-mated. The female electrodes are riveted within the connector body (15) by their blind faces and have an orthodox inwardly sprung cup shaped form. They are set within cylindrical recesses in the block which have tapered entrances for the male electrodes (7). The entrances have an inward bevel of about 20 deg. leading to the electrode space proper. The tapered section approx. matches that of the tool (1a) holding the male electrode which has a solid cylindrical connector region and a shoulder (15) limiting penetration. The tool end is split and has a shoulder (11) which, on insertion, bears against the housing bevelled surface allowing its end section to grip a neck (8) on the electrode.
