Abstract

The caisson with a flap valve for insertion in conventional water closet flush water reservoirs to obtain a partial flush at the user's discretion, thus economising on water, is open at the top and bottom and placed in the reservoir surrounding the flush outlet valve. The closure of the flap valve produces a partial flush. A hand lever is used to operate the flap valve, and this lever is linked to the float actuated lever controlling the reservoir supply valve, whereby the flap remains in the open station until the full flush is completed. The linkage constitutes an arm fixed to the flap which is part of a lateral caisson wall, and a crank arm fixed to the float lever, with the crank arm being able to pivot and slide w.r.t. the flap arm.
