Abstract

The fine material straining system projects liquid jets on the straining surface. The jets of liquid move to and fro across the straining surface, the stroke being at least equal to the distance between adjacent ones, thus convering the entire surface. The spray jets and feed pipes can pivot on a fixed support, or travel on it by means of rollers or shoes. The reciprocating movement can be generated hydraulically, mechanically, electrically or pneumatically. The design reduces capillary action and the rate of choking of the straining surface.
