Abstract

A printed circuit board edge connector has individually sprung contacts, with minimum pressure on the conducting surfaces of the board for opening and closing the contacts inside the connector. The body of the connector includes a rectangular cross sectioned cavity. Independent sliding items are trapped within the surfaces parallel to the width of the inserted board. The sliding parts are shaped so that a sprung conductor, whose shape can vary with the design, is trapped within it. Insertion and withdrawal of the board moves the slider that contact pressure is minimised.
