Abstract

The metering device for liquids is of the type which has a reservoir (4) of known volume and a ball cock (8) which initiates and terminates the flow of liquid into the reservoir (4). The ball cock is positioned inside an enclosed chamber (7) into which the liquid inlet channel runs. It is provided with a baffle (11) which offers several possible inclinations, these defining the three useful positions of the ball (8), viz: (1) closure of the inlet channel, (2) flow of liquid into the metering device through an orifice in the baffle, (3) pouring out the quantity measured. The device may be constructed from two symmetrical shells (2, 3), assembled together. The width of the chamber may be slightly greater than the diameter of the ball while the baffle diameter may be equal to that of the ball.
