Abstract

Aperture controlled two-stroke i/c engine with counter flow scavenging and a combustion chamber arranged in the piston. One or more apertures (10) of scavenging channels (8) issue tangentially and inclined upwards in the cylinder (2) above the upper edge of the piston (5) in the lower dead centre position. One or more outlet channels (15) pass outwards from a recess (12) in the centre of the piston base (5), through the piston outer surface and the cylinder wall - either partly or completely - below the piston upper edge in the lower dead centre position of the piston (5).
