Abstract
The structures made by this technique are, eg, those used for foundations for marine installations etc. The structure is lowered as it is constructed. It is suspended from a floating platform by means of cables which remain embedded within the structure. The cables are suspended from pulleys and their movement is controlled by jacks. The cables are locked in position during the construction of one part of the structure and, after a suitable hardening time, the cables are freed and allowed to drop through a distance corresponding to the height of the part constructed. The cables are re-locked and the next section of the structure is made. The process allows the prodn. of very large structures as it overcomes the stress problems encountered in previous processes.
