Abstract

A lamp socket is esp. for panel instrumentation in motor vehicles. The socket removes the necessity to dismantle the socket mounting in order to replace as faulty lamp. The socket has two sprung contact leaves (5) approximately 'T' shaped in form, the horizontal members being curved to form a clip into which two solid rectangular conductors (8, 9) are fitted. The rectangular elements have small pressed out sections which limit their insertion distance within the panel (25) fitting holes. One of the rectangular conductors (8) has a tapered section to allow it to plug into a panel socket and an end piece (14) held between the two sprung electrodes acts as an end plug.
