Abstract

The disposal of spent oil/water emulsions, e.g. cutting fluids used in machine tools of mechanical engineering works, is based on treating a tricking film of the emulsion by hot air. The hot air stream is applied at 80-250 degrees C in such a way that the water content of the emulsion is evapd. The recovered oil is used as the heat source for the hot air generation. Not soluble oils are removed before the drying process by decantation. The operating costs of this process are much lower than those of any other known system. It eliminates effectively any pollution of the environment.
