Abstract

The chassis for a two-tracked vehicle has a box-shaped subframe (1) between the tracks (2), each of which is independently driven by a pair of hydraulic motors (3) through a differential. The fluid pump is driven by an i.c. engine (5). The subframe supports a platform (6) which can be raised by four hydraulic cylinders (14) arranged in a square, the mid point of which coincides with the central swive post (10). There are rollers (7) on which the platform (6) rests in its lowest position, and fluid is introduced under pressure to the cylinders (14) to drive the pistons (16) upwards, and the central post (10) lifts in the cylinder (11), centred by the spherical socket (13) and ball segment (12).
