Abstract

Apparatus for testing the stability of a patient has a fixed plate (1) with a set of inflatable bellows (3) supporting an upper plate (2) on which the patient stands. Independently of them a set of inductive probes is mounted in pairs on opposite sides of a plate (6) placed on the base plate (1). Attached to the underside of the upper plate (2) is a metal disc (7). The probes are connected by wires to an electronic monitoring device and indicator. The probes are in the form of spirals, and are arranged as a ring. The metal plate is adjusted by levelling screws, and the bellows are adjusted to the weight of the patient. By means of the proximity of the metal plate (7) and the probes, signals corresponding to the titling movement are obtained by the monitoring system.
