Abstract

The pipe coupling for use with flexible pipes consists of a metal fitting with internal shoulds (C1, C2) between stepped bores. A ring (F) has a ring of spring fingers (B1) attached to its inner end and a shoulder to support an O-ring at its outer end. A sleeve (P) with a conical end (P1) fits inside the ring and is pushed against the spring fingers (B1) to allow the pipe (T) to be pressed into the fitting (C) until it abuts against the shoulder (G). When the sleeve is released the pipe (T) is held by the spring fingers and can only be released by pushing the sleeve inwards to lift the spring fingers off the pipe surfaces.
