Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de transformation de polypropylène à configuration stéréorégulière ou de mélanges de polypropylène à configuration stéreorégulière et atactique, en des formes stéréo-statistiques ou atactiques de polypropylène. Selon l'invention, on met le polymère en contact avec un catalyseur d'hydrogénation, à temperature élevée, supérieure à 200 degrés C, de préférence sous une pression d'hydrogène d'au moins 35 kg/cm**2 et à une température comprise entre 250 et 350 degrés C. L'invention permet d'obtenir un polypropylène reconfiguré à structure statistique, de teneur en polypropylène atactique d'au moins 98 %. Applications: fabrication des matières plastiques, préparation d'agents épaississants, d'apprêtage et d'adhésifs.
