Abstract

The automatic gas release valve is for installation at the high points of pipe networks containing liquid under pressure. Two floats which displace within a perforated sleeve effect the controlled release of gas whilst retaining the liquid. The sleeve communicates with a liquid filled valve chamber. The two floats are installed one above the other and slide within the sleeve. The upper float closes the top outlet of the sleeve when displaced upwards. An aperture of smaller dia. than the sleeve outlet, is provided through the upper float to permit gas release. The lower float closes the gas release aperture when displaced upwards. Sleeve perforations are concentrated in the upper sleeve section.
