Abstract

The board and frame may be used to mount picture or documents and uses a frame of longitudinally split (2) tubular members (1). The members (1) may be of round hollow section with the split (2) formed by a continuous axially parallel annular gap of say 10 deg. of arc. The board (3) is fixed to the frame members by housing board edges in the tubes (1) through the splits (2) and by providing a mechanical key between the board edges and the tube split edges (2a, 2b). The key may be provided by housing an edge (2a) of the tube split in a groove (3a) in the rear face of the mounting board (3). Alternatively the mounting board may have a peripheral upstand which prevents the escape of the board edge from the framing tube. The upstand may be formed by appending a rectangular section bead, or by reverse folding of the mounting board.
