Abstract
Novel aluminium and/or magnesium salts of formula (I): (where the amino acid is in the D,L or DL form; n=3 or 4; a=1-10; b=0-9; c=0 or 1, b and c not both being O; d=0-19; pref. where a+b=3b2c) are prpd by reacting an aq. soln of diacetyl amithine or diacetyl lysine with a reactive Mg cpd; esp. Mg(OH)2 and then with a reactive Al cpd esp Al isopropylate. The salts can be used in the treatment of gastrointestinal mucous membrane inflammatories (esp. peptic ulcers) are neuromuscular disorders due to Mg deficiency (when c>0). They also have a good scar-forming action.
