Abstract
An electronic switch (3) is made-up of a bipolar transistor whose collector is supplied by a positive voltage from a battery (9) and a resistor (8). A logic circuit (10) connected to the resistor (8) can be a device generating pulses or a memory device. The base of the transistor (3) is connected to one of the armatures of a proximity capacitor (1). A pulse source (5) is connected, through a resistor (6), to the emitter of the transistor (3). A diode (7) is used to leave only the negative pulses. When an electrically conductive object connected to earth, such as one finger of a hand, is presented to the armature (1) of the proximity capacitor, the effective capacitance (25) of the object is used to operate the electronic switch (3) and activate the logic circuit (10).
