Abstract
The motion of an element which simultaneously reciprocates and rotates is converted into pure rotary movement of the output shaft. This ensures that sliding friction between output shaft and drive element is eliminated and replaced by rolling friction. The drive element is made in two parts, the outer of which converts oscillatory to rotary movement by a curved slot into which project pegs from a surrounding fixed sleeve. The inner part has two parallel longitudinal slots forming tracks in which roll bearing wheels which are fixed to the output shaft. The efficiency of the drive mechanism is increased.
