Abstract

The exchanger recovers the heat lost by the air discharged from a ventilation system and uses it to heat the fresh air introduced, working on the cross-flow principle with the air currents flowing in opposite directions in parallel passages which do not communicate with each other. It comprises modular metallic components formed by rectangular sheets with two adjacent edges bent in one direction from the plane of the sheet and two others in the opposite direction. The sheets are assembled together by means of their bent edges so that each one occupies a position inverted 180 deg. in relation to its neighbour. This is series of pockets are formed, turning in alternate directions so as to constitute the air passages.
