Abstract

The ventilator unit (2) is positioned at one end of the compressor (1), and the sound insulating panels (3, 5, 7) are connected to the latter and to each other, to form a sound insulating enclosure around the compressor (1), the enclosure being supported from the ground independently of the compressor (1) by resilient means. The ventilator unit (2) has two side panels (9), a top panel (10) and a central panel, and is divided into upper and lower compartments by a partition (12). The lower compartment has an internal partition separating it from the compressor enclosure, and with a central opening in which the ventilator turbine for the compressor is located. Both compartments communicate with atmosphere, the lower one via a grill in the side panels (9) and the upper one via a grill in the top panel (10).
