Abstract

Polluted gas stream is first passed through electrodes to charge its suspended particles, then into a convergent passage to induce a spray curtain at the passage throat from water streaming down the passage walls, the droplets receiving an opposite charge to that of the particles; finally, the stream of gas passes through the throat into a divergent passage where the polluting particles are taken into the droplets which carry the particles out of the gas stream.
