Abstract

The button cell comprises a lithium anode, with an active positive material comprising s ilver and lead chromate. The cathode is of soot or chromate plus soot ensuring good-electrical contact. The electrolyte is a soln of a lithium perchlorate in a solvent chosen from propylene carbonate, THF, tetrahydro furane DMC, dimethyl carbonate and mixturs of THF-dimethoxyethane, THF-propylene carbonate, THF-DMC etc. The cell is contained in a coated steel case. Ag2CrO4 of the anode has low solubility in the solvent, hence the cell has a long life, while having a high output and light weight.
