Abstract
Insulated electric cable incorporates an insulating layer of a crosslinked homo- or copolymer of polyethylene, and an outer semiconducting layer comprising an EVA copolymer (vinyl acetate content 25 to 55 wt.%) 2,5-dimethyl-2',5'-di-(tert. butylperoxy)-hexyne-3 as crosslinking agent, and soot as an electrically conducting material. The outer layer is easily, cleaned and accurately stripped for splicing.
